POSTERIOR CHAIN TRAINING FOR STRENGTH AND EXPLOSIVE POWER
Many volleyball players want desperately to increase speed, vertical jump and explosiveness.
If you want to be faster, jump higher, and improve explosiveness, then you better not ignore posterior chain exercises.
The posterior chain is the series of muscles along the posterior or back of the body that function in a chain and allow proper movement patterns.
A weak link in the chain leads to decreased performance of a movement and can make the athlete susceptible to injury.

As coaches, we often get stuck on the following questions...
Which practice method is best?
Do we continue to focus on the skills we’ve got, or do we work on new skills?
What volleyball drills are the best?
What’s the best way to spend the limited practice time we have available?
All these are important questions that every coach should consider.
But what about improving the level of focus and concentration?
What if we simply just created practices that were more engaging?
Next time you create a practice plan, think about the following questions.
1. Does the practice have your players operating on the edge of their ability?
2. Does the volleyball drill directly connect to the skill you want to build?
3. Does the
drill provide strong, direct, and immediate feedback? In other words, does the learner always know how they’re doing?
4. Does it command your attention? Does it use emotion to propel you toward a goal?
I think most coaches would agree that any coach that's good at keeping players focused and engaged is going to have a successful practice.
