1) 7 COMMON SERVING MISTAKES

When it comes to serving, many coaches tend to vary on their philosophies.

Some coaches take a conservative approach to serving and direct their players simply to just keep the ball in play.

Other coaches see the serve as a opportunity to score points or at least put pressure on the opponent's serve receive.

Coaches should assess their team's athletic abilities and skill development level, relative to the competition, to determine an appropriate serving strategy.

For example, if a team doesn't match up well at the net, and consequently has trouble scoring, a coach may want their players to serve more aggressively.

Aggressive serving can produce aces or force poor passing that disrupts the opponent's offensive scheme.

2) DO YOU THINK YOU'RE TOO SHORT TO BE A GOOD VOLLEYBALL PLAYER?

When it comes to playing volleyball, if you're tall, you likely get more attention than your shorter counterparts.

Just about every volleyball player wants to be taller. Being just a little taller can give you the advantage you need to get a few more blocks or spikes at the net.

Or when playing defense, being taller with longer arms helps to cover more court and pass balls that would normally be out of reach for most players.

We know there are many advantages to being a taller player, but are there advantages to being shorter?
